Hot August Nights!

I can't believe it's August! Summer has flown by. It's hard to think that in just 2 weeks school will start. The days will get shorter, the nights will get colder and fall will be here. I don't feel ready to let go of summer, but while it was here we enjoyed every minute of it!
The 4th of July, we went to sugar house park with our good friends Dallin and Kelli.
We had a blast playing cards and watching the fireworks
Also this summer we got to go to Rio Tinto stadium, and see the one and only Neil Diamond!
I had been waiting all year for this, I don't think Nick was quite as excited.
He had fun though, after all it was Neil Diamond!
That lady in red looked very similar to my grandma, and that was the average age of the audience.
We had seats down on the floor, it was incredible!
There is nothing like a Neil Diamond concert, whenever he comes, we'll be there!

This summer has been a busy one for sure! Nick has been on the day shift which has been nice. The kids and I have had to find friends to keep us entertained. Living on this street though friends are never in short supply and we love it!

 S. and the little girl down the street get along so great, they love to play on the "slipping slide" together
We have been extra lucky this summer to get to have a play date every week with Finn and Lila! we love having them come play with us.
 "Camp Out"
 Nick's First Grayling
He was so excited about this catch.
We went on a family camp out to the high Uinta's
Lincoln loved it! I think he would live there if we let him.
Dad, Ari, Nick and Lincoln all got up early to fish
This is one of my favorite pictures from the trip, the lake was gorgeous and the fishing was great!
 Watching the master at work.
 Carson loved the boats.
 C. and Lincoln wore their life jackets the whole time, in and out of the water.
we took a hike and F. found a field of wild flowers, and don't worry he hiked the whole way with a twinkie in his had! (he's his daddy's boy)
Nick taught the boys to fish, even Lincoln wanted to learn!
My best catch of the trip!
The little boys had a blast throwing rocks into the lake
they did it almost the entire time.
Lincoln loves the water! he didn't want to get out, he's a natural swimmer.
For Nick's birthday mom and dad gave him a life jacket for Lincoln, boy were we grateful!
3 little boys ready to go home.
Even Beckham got to come camping! Yes he is wearing shorts, his mom had never camped in the high Uintas and didn't really know... It gets cold up there!
This summer we also celebrated Nick's birthday, we had a party with his family and one with my family.
It was such a blast having everyone over for a BBQ.
Mini and his grandpa just hanging out.
We also celebrated the 24th of July with a great fireworks show.
Carson was really into lighting the fireworks.
Our cute little neighbor even came down to play.
Beckham wasn't to crazy about the fireworks, he ended up in the house.
 The firework master!
 Nick and his boy!
 Lincoln loves car rides
We got to babysit Lila this summer
It made Tuesdays the best day of the week!
 Two best friends
We gave Lila a ponytail, she looked so cute!
 The kids love the water!
 Lila is a little fish!
Nick's birthday BBQ with his side of the family.
Nick's whole family, aunts, uncles and cousins all came, it was lots of fun.
Last but not least, our little Lincoln. He is not so little anymore, he has grown up so fast and now rules the house. We come home to lots of surprises, every time we leave he gets mad and chews something up. Just a few casualties we've had include, the remote control, dvd's, Nick's chacos, and my favorite pair of shoes from Thailand. It's a good thing we love you Lincoln!

What makes a house a home?

We have just moved into our first home. Well sort of we are still renting, but we are renting a house, so it is our own space a place we can call home. We love it, its been a busy month with moving and working on the house, and we have loved every minute of it!

One of the reasons we had to move was because we got a dog.

These two boys make turn our house into a home!

This is Lincoln, he is only a puppy and still has lots of growing to do!

                                                             He's growing up so fast
Lincoln, our sweet little puppy joined our family in February. He is our sweet little Labradoodle, He is  so loving and playful, our home would not be complete with him.

A Labor of Love : Remodeling the Kitchen
We decided to tear out the kitchen
 4 Layers of linoleum!
They really had some cute style in the 40's

we finally found the original floor!
it's been a long process but we are almost done with the floor ( more pictures to come soon)

tis the season

Family Thanksgiving, It was a Richins year for thanksgiving and the whole family was there, all 16 of us! This year we added 3 new members to the family. It just keeps growing and gets better with each new member!

Playing games. Nick looks a little too comfortable with baby Lila, she is our favorite niece(also our only niece) we love spending time with Lila and the boys. It's no wonder why Nick is favorite uncle!
Decorating the Tree! Nick and I got a real tree this year, it's our first Christmas tree. It only took me 2 1/2 hours and 550 lights but I finally got it done!
After the lights it was time to decorate!
I may be a little more excited then Nick. I started celebrating Christmas pretty much the day after Halloween! All you who judge, judge away once you spend Christmas in a non christian society, you realize it is never to early to bring in the spirit of Christ!
Our first holiday season as a married couple!
Our Christmas tree, I've been taking a photography class this semester and was trying out some different things
I love Christmas trees, I could sit and stare at it all night!
Christmas is a feeling, and its clearly in the air. Nick and I are very excited to spend this Christmas together, to start our own family traditions!
